Craft Classes

Come to the Laft Hus and enjoy a fun-filled afternoon learning a Norwegian craft. There are many classes offered through-out the year for rosemaling painting, wood-carving, hardanger embroidery, and many more.

Contact the Laft Hus today to find out what classes are being offered, and prepare yourself for an afternoon of cultural enrichment and fun. Craft classes are offered every Wednesday from 9 AM - 3 PM.

A Chip Off the Old Block

Learn the basic techniques of chip carving, such as how to hold on your knife to cut out triangular shapes in basswood to create a geometric pattern. A beginner's class where you can make a Christmas ornament to take home. Knives will be available for free use or purchase for $15.

Prepping for the Big Sale

Help us with baking at the Laft Hus every Wednesday for 6 weeks before this date.

Baking Days: Wednesdays:October 18-25 (Lefse Making) & November 1, 18, 15 (Other Baking)

Join us to learn and help bake every morning.

Basket Making

Children and adults enjoy making a woven heart basket that is traditionally hung on the Christmas tree with treats in it. Instructor: Edie Madden
