Acanthus Carving 

Instructors: Phillip Odden & Else Bigton
Dates: Sunday, June 25th to Wednesday, June 28th
Time: 8:30am to 5:00pm
Cost: $400
(Payment must be received by May 24. Along with $35 non-refundable booking fee)

The instructors will bring a variety of ready to carve products for you to choose from. Some tools will be availabe to use, but, be sure to bring any tools you alrday have.
Class size is limited.

Phillip Odden and Else Bigton, a husband and wife team, are probably the North American experts in Acanthus Carving. They do commission work and have worked on such projects as the Norwegian Pavilion at Walt Disney's Epcot Center in Florida and the Gol Stave Church Project at Minot, North Dakota.
Their wok is actively collected by private individuals, as well as, public institutions all over the world.

Else was born and raised in Norway, and Phillip was born and raised in Wisconsin. They met while attending Hjerleids Carving School in Dovre, Norway.

Phil and Else live on the family farm by Barronet, Wisconsin, where they have fjord horses. They take a tour group to Norway every summer.

Norwegian Laft Hus Society - Summer Festival

Please join us in celebrating the 150th anniversary of Confederation of our beloved nation, and the 30th anniversary of the Norwegian Laft Hus Society.

There will be a viking village, music, story-telling, exibits, demonstrations, fjord horses, games, face painting, and a bouncy castle for children all throughout the day.

This is an all-ages event, and fun for the whole family.


Norwegian Craft and Bake Sale

Come and buy delicious treats and beautiful crafts the Norwegian culture is loved for. The craft and bake sale will be held:

    Saturday from 9:00am to 4:00 pm

    Sunday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm
